A group of Maasai women in Kenya are rescuing girls from female genital mutilation and forced marriage. With the help of our Africa partner organization Harvest of Hope Africa, we recently helped some rescued girls get to a safe place. One was liberated after being sold into sex trafficking for purposes of forced prostitution. Others were freed from forced marriage. Many Maasai girls are sold to the highest bidder and often the man purchasing a girl is older than the sold girl’s father. A group of committed Massai women are also helping girls escape female genital mutilation. The liberated girls now have a hope and future through school and education. Here the Maasai women happily sing God is good and the joy of the Lord is enough for them.
