Helping Syrians

In partnership with Kids Against Hunger and Vision Beyond Borders, URI has delivered 14,256 meals for Syrian refugees residing in Jordan. Jordan hosts more than 600,000 registered Syrian refugees and thousands more who are unregistered. The tiny nation is nearing the breaking point, and many of the refugees worry where their next meal will come from. We can't feed all of them, but together in a united response we can ease the worry for some of them, at least for now.

The Syrian War is now in its eighth year. Even if a political settlement is soon reached--which is doubtful at this point, it would be months, if not years before the refugees could return home and many will have nothing to return to. In the meantime, they need all of us to provide ongoing help.

Some Americans and others in the West do not want to receive Syrian immigrants into their countries, but most Syrian refugee we have met in camps in Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan say they want to remain in the Middle East as long as they have the food and other material help they need to sustain their lives outside of Syria.

Working with our partners, we can reach them in a direct, intimate and caring response. We can do more with your help!
